So the future:-
My big fat hairy audacious goal is to make enough money to turn my writing from a hobby to a job.
My aspirational yet challenging goal is to break even so that the work supports itself. (Pay back the netbook cost, the .com blog cost, the printing, the editing, etc.)
My achievable goal is that people read what I’ve written and I’ll include friends and family in this (they count right?).
So I am making a pledge:_
1. I will write something every day.
(Even if it is only to a few words to say “Bugger, i haven’t written anything today” on this blog.)
2. I will offer moral support to others who want to write and need a bit of light relief from the blank page.
(If you comment or post here. I will reply!)
3. I will post stories, ideas, suggestions and any other generally good advice I can find from my research.
(I will give some of these a humorous sarcastic british humour twist where possible)
So that’s all reader. That’s what “I” and this Blog are all about. I hope you come with me on the journey and I look forward to joining you on yours!
“Life’s to short to ask what if?”
Hi there, I just pop over to say BIG thanks for visiting my blog. I am very glad you did – so I can find you! Your blog is great and I really like your writings; the tone, the ideas, the expressions. And I see that we have been blogging for about the same length of time (I started on 20 May -:)). So let’s share some mutual support!
That sounds like a great idea and I really liked your blog! As a fellow newbie at the blogging game, I can totally relate to your musings on how confusing it can be and the sheer weight of information that you have to absorb. Thanks for visiting and following.
Thank you for liking my post. I started my blog in January and am still learning. Learning is “brain food”. all the best. Renee
And there is so muh to learn! Thanks for stopping by.
I know! At times I get overwhelmed and wish I could spend more time on my blog. Life gets so busy for us all. Have a good day.
very much appreciative of your wee rule number two… cheers!
mbf, very welcome.
)
Good resolutions. Shared to G+.
Also, I really like your header for the page.
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I do really appreciate the encouragement. I’ll keep you posted on my progress and I’ll keep checking back on yours.
Hi Myxl, absolutely no problem I love reading a diverse number of blogs. Yours took me by surprise aacctually. Loved the content.
Good afternoon….Well, it is over here anyway..(afternoon that is..). I have noticed you have stopped by my blog a couple of times. I want to thank you for that.!! I certainly appreciate it when anyone takes a few minutes to look over what I have to say. I have read several of your blog entries. It is obvious that you enjoy writing, as do I. Problems occur for me when I stop writing and start reading (like your blog.!!!). I can’t seem to get back to what I was doing…Thanks again.!
Be well….
Hi Howard, thanks very much for commenting. I really enjoyed your bio and it sounds as if you are now doing what you love. WRITING! I also especially liked your quote about choice. Thanks for stopping by!
NIce to know you’re there.
Great to know you’re there too! I’ve just checked out your post aboout poetry. Really good recommend. I really like “Poetryofamadman”. Check it out if you can. I love poetry but it’s not a media I am comfortable with.
That’s one I like too.
I like that one, too.
Thanks for visiting my blog – glad I find yours too! Looking forward to spending time having a good look around!
Thanks Sally and welcome, stay as long as you like.
I love as humorous, sarcastic British twist. We Yanks do, you see…Thank you for stopping by my cyber place, and I will stop back here at yours. You have a coolio tone to your blog… which goes back to that first sentence, I expect…holy crap, I’ve written a mini story!! hehe
The more verbose the better in my book and thanks for the comment about tone. This really is me unedited and I hope that comes through.
You have been recommended highly so I could not resist stopping by. I like that you have set goals for your blog. I just started in with no rules. I know I didn’t start with the idea, “I want to write.” I don’t. Most of my blog….to me anyway….is just about visiting with others. I try to visit in my blog and try to visit in my comments.
I read where you lost a friend who was blogging. I know what it is to have a fellow computer-er just up and disappear. It really takes a part of you away. Your blog is friendly. I know there are plenty to continue with you.
Aww, thank you – Your blog comes highly recommended too. Thanks for thinking i’m friendly. I think my blog is a bit like me. Constantly evolving.
Good evening from the Yank’s land.!! Had to tell you again how much I enjoy your blog. I am sending an award your way. The One Lovely Blog Award. You may already have one (or more..) but that is okay….You need another one.!! I spend WAY too much time on your blog.!! http://wp.me/p2xFBT-4q
Be well…
Howard
Thanks Howard, I am really touched! Best wishes, Sarah.
Hi,
This is just to let you know that I have nominated you for the beautiful blogger award. If you chose to participate, (I understand completely if you do not wish to), please pick the award and rules from here: http://wp.me/p2v1s2-ph
Best of Luck!
Daniela
Oh Wow,
Thanks Daniela, I will have to check this out! The thought is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for liking my post (http://kittheelmarvel.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/meet-me-at-the-crossroads-of-ordinary-and-extraordinary/). This is a great blog, by the way.
And thanks for those pledges. #1 and I have a pretty tumultous relationship, but we’re getting there…
No 1# is the only thing you can do. Then edit, the re-write and then re-write some more and then publish. Oh and then start work on the second book. It’s hard to write every day but the writing brain is a muscle. You use it or lose it.
Very, very true. Couldn’t agree more.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Best wishes on those goals and I love your pledges! Writers are in this together.
We are definitely all in this together, thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wordy and verbose muse!
)
Love it. Writing can be so selfish but you seem to always reach out and like others people’s work too. Felicity Fox
Aww, thank you very much. Love your blog by the way!
You can do anything that you make up your mind to do!
I have been writing since the age of ten, and don’t know WHY in the WORLD that I waited until my late forties to get a computer, and start making a living from home, as a freelance writer-for-hire! Good Luck as You pursue your “big, fat, hairy, audacious goal!”
Glad the freelancing is going well. Do you write fiction as well or just e-zine/articles?
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post, “I hid from Twitter to save my reality”. I think writing down your intentions is a great way to be concrete in what you want to achieve. Good luck.
Cheers,
iRuniBreathe
Thanks, IRun, Loved your Twitter Post.
I found your blog via Daniela at the LanternPost. I like your goals on this page (similar to my own) and I’ve enjoyed exploring some of your older posts. I’m glad I’ve found your blog and will definitely be back to read more.
Hi Janet, thank you for the kind words. I’ll be sure to check out your blog too. Goals are important, but I think it’s also worth giving yourself some flexibility. Thanks for saying HI.
Like many others above, I want to thank you for your visit to my site, and likewise I commend and concur with your goals. This won’t be my only comment; come the weekend when I actually have a sliver of time I will read and comment, I’m definitely coming back to do so!
I loved reading about your work as a teacher! I think people in your profession should wear capes. I was lucky enough to have had some super-hero teachers. I probably wouldn’t be writing again 23 years on if it wasn’t for my English Lit teacher – MIss Rowen.
Hey, thanks for liking my 6 Sunday post. Something a bit different.
Reading your about page I feel we have many things in common with out writing endeavours. I write this after I read your latest post about never being an Indie Author, which also strengthens that idea. Now, to comment on that…
Cheers! See you round.
Cheers Richard and welcome, hope to see more great posts from you.

Thanks for visiting. Robust blog you’ve got here.

Thanks for liking my post today. Good luck with your goals!
Everyone should get a chance to face their Dragon and your writing is rather good y’know! – Sarah.
Thanks for the link to my post, it lead me to your blog. I’ll trade your sarcastic British humour for some cutting Canadian comments, so I think that should be close to even.
Sounds like a fair trade!
Thanks for stopping by one of my blogs. I am glad you enjoyed today’s post.
Thanks for checking out my blog. It was a great post.
Thank you for taking a look at my blog. I have to admit, every bit of support helps in this type of field! (To which I’m sure you’re well aware of.) I really enjoy your blog. After this, I’m definitely selecting “subscribe”!
Hi! I just wanna reciprocate and say thanks for dropping by my blog . It’s nice to just know other people get to read what I write (let alone like it
). I like your goal of offering other people who want to write moral support – I’ll definitely be back here to read some more of your posts
